Anuma Access FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about locking ZETA, earning Anuma Tokens, and unlocking your Pro plan through Anuma Access.
The basics
What is ZETA?
ZETA is the native token of ZetaChain , the blockchain that powers Anuma Access. You lock ZETA in a staking contract to earn Anuma Tokens and (at 80,000+ ZETA) unlock the Anuma Pro Plan.
What are Anuma Tokens?
Anuma Tokens are a non-transferrable ERC-20 token on ZetaChain that you earn by locking ZETA. They convert 1:1 into Anuma credits inside the app. You can’t sell or trade them — they exist only to be redeemed for credits. See Rewards and Anuma Tokens.
Is locking the same as staking?
Yes — the app uses Lock as the primary verb on every button, but Anuma Access is a staking system under the hood. Your locked ZETA earns yield (Anuma Tokens) at an annual rate that’s 12% at launch (see Does the reward rate ever change? below).
Plans and benefits
How much ZETA do I need to lock to get Pro?
80,000 ZETA. Locking 79,999 ZETA earns Anuma Token rewards but does not activate Pro benefits.
What if I’m already on a paid Pro subscription and I lock 80,000 ZETA?
Anuma keeps things simple — you get one Pro plan, not two. Your Stripe subscription continues billing as normal and you continue to get 2,500 credits/month from it. The staking position runs silently in the background, still earning Anuma Tokens for you to redeem.
If you later cancel your Stripe subscription, you automatically fall back to staking-Pro with no interruption — your account stays on Pro as long as your locked balance is 80,000 ZETA or more.
Anuma never gives you 2× credits or 2× Pro benefits.
Do I get a Starter tier if I lock less than 80,000 ZETA?
No. The only staking-based plan tier is Pro at 80,000+ ZETA. Below that threshold, you’re on Flexible Staking — you still earn Anuma Tokens at the current annual rate, but plan benefits stay at whatever tier you’d otherwise be on (Free or paid Starter/Pro).
How do I unlock the Pro benefits — is it automatic?
Yes, automatic. As soon as your lock transaction confirms with 80,000+ ZETA, Pro benefits turn on. There’s no separate upgrade step.
Rewards
Does the reward rate ever change?
Yes. The 12% annual rate is the rate at launch, but Anuma may adjust it over time as the program evolves. The Anuma Access dashboard always shows the current rate — that’s the source of truth for what you’re earning right now.
Is the rate compounded?
The rate accrues continuously (every second), but earned tokens don’t auto-compound into your locked balance. They build up as a separate claimable balance you can claim and redeem (or leave on the contract).
Can I lose my ZETA to slashing?
No. ZetaChain’s delegation contract for Anuma Access does not slash. Your locked ZETA is always recoverable through the standard 21-day unlock process.
Do Anuma Tokens expire?
No. Anuma Tokens, whether sitting on the staking contract (claimable) or in your wallet (redeemable), don’t expire. Only redeemed credits expire — 30 days after the redemption transaction. See Claim and redeem for credits.
Why do credits expire after 30 days?
The 30-day expiry encourages active use and keeps the credit economy balanced. The recommended pattern is to keep most of your earnings as Anuma Tokens (which don’t expire) and redeem in small batches when you need credits.
Unlocking
Why is there a 21-day unlocking period?
ZetaChain’s staking contract enforces a 21-day unbonding period for all withdrawal requests. This is standard for proof-of-stake networks and keeps the network secure.
Can I cancel an unlock once I’ve started it?
No — the contract does not support cancellation. If you change your mind, the cleanest workaround is to lock new ZETA right away to restore your balance and plan tier. The unlock request still runs its 21-day course in the background.
Do I need to do anything when the 21 days are up?
Yes — once the unlocking period ends, the position in Locking Batches switches to a Claim state. Open Locking Batches, tap Claim on the unlocked position, and sign the transaction. Your ZETA arrives in the wallet that owns the position. See Unlock your ZETA for the full flow.
Wallets and security
Where is my ZETA actually held?
In ZetaChain’s staking contract — not by Anuma. Anuma builds the UI and integration; the funds are custodied by an audited, on-chain contract. You can verify positions, locks, and unlocks on ZetaScan .
Can Anuma access my wallet’s private keys?
No. The embedded wallet that comes with your account is managed by a third-party wallet-infrastructure provider with secure key isolation. Anuma’s app signs transactions through that provider but never sees the keys directly.
Can I use my own wallet (MetaMask, etc.) instead of the embedded one?
Yes — see Wallets and networks for the list of supported external wallets.
What if I lose access to my Anuma account?
Your locked ZETA is tied to a wallet address, not your Anuma login. If you locked from an external wallet, your wallet’s seed phrase recovers everything — the staking position is fully on-chain.
Costs and fees
Does Anuma take a fee on rewards or redemptions?
No. Anuma takes no fee on Anuma Tokens or redemptions. Redeeming is gasless — the portal handles the burn for you. Claiming costs ZetaChain network gas (paid in ZETA), typically a fraction of a cent per transaction.
How much does it cost to claim and redeem?
Claiming costs ZetaChain network gas. Redeeming is gasless — the portal burns your Anuma Tokens and credits your account, so no wallet signature or gas is needed for the redeem step.
Do I need to keep ZETA in my wallet after locking to pay for gas?
Yes — keep a small ZETA balance in your wallet to cover gas for claim and unlock transactions. (Redeeming Anuma Tokens for credits is now gasless — the portal handles the burn for you.)
Buying ZETA
Where can I buy ZETA?
If you have zero ZETA when you open Anuma Access, the Get ZETA modal links to:
- Coinbase — buy ZETA with a Coinbase account
- Alchemy Pay — buy with a debit or credit card
Both flows send ZETA directly to your Anuma wallet on ZetaChain. You can also buy ZETA from any major exchange that lists it (Binance, KuCoin, Gate.io, etc.) and bridge or send it to your ZetaChain address.
Why doesn’t my ZETA balance show up after I bought it?
Make sure the ZETA was sent on ZetaChain, not Ethereum. If you bought ZETA on a CEX and withdrew it, the network you selected matters — choose ZetaChain at withdrawal. If your ZETA is already on Ethereum, you can move it to ZetaChain with the ZetaChain Hub .
