What’s new in Anuma

Follow the latest Anuma improvements, including new models, memory updates, app fixes, and product experiments.

Week of May 18, 2026

New

  • Guest trial chat — visitors can try Anuma without an account, getting three free messages on the full chat surface with the sidebar, suggestion chips, and Council Mode  on display before signing in.
  • Chat selection toolbar — highlight any text in a message to Save to memory (Anuma rewrites the selection into a clean entry you can edit before adding to your Memory Vault ) or Ask Anuma (the selection becomes a quote chip above the composer so your next message carries the context).
  • Storage panel in Settings — real on-device usage with a per-category breakdown for Images, Videos, Audio, Documents, Slide decks, and Apps.

Plans

  • $10 credit pack now delivers 1000 credits (up from 900).

Improved

  • Smooth streaming markdown rendering — per-word fade on new tokens, no paragraph flash, no margin oscillation, no full-height code blocks snapping shorter mid-stream, and math survives streaming without vanishing at the final render.
  • Per-message response info (model, latency, tokens) moved into a single dropdown menu on chat replies.

Mobile

iOS and Android apps are coming soon.

  • Library redesign — 2-column grid, full-screen image and video viewers, an inline WebView for PDFs / HTML / text, an info modal, plus an always-on auto-save so generated images, audio, and videos land in the library.
  • Hybrid message search in Recents — keyword and semantic ranking combined, with a synchronous title prefill and a 300ms debounce so long-tail matches surface as you type.
  • Long-press any artifact (chat images, video, audio, slide decks, apps, attached images, library tiles) for a unified Share / Save / Edit / Copy / Open sheet.
  • Agents section redesign — large title, recently-used orb row, All / Text / Lifestyle filter pills, rich agent cards with Chat now / Text CTAs, and a new Agent Context / Use Cases sheet.
  • Encrypted backup is on by default for new users — the nudge banner no longer fronts your first session unless you opt out.
  • New app icon.
  • Refreshed CTAs across home, sidebar, settings, chat, and the model picker; top-level headers unified; settings modals polished; Settings lifted to the sidebar.
  • Dark-mode contrast bumped to match the new Figma; dropdown and search surfaces follow.
  • Android gains the new glass surface tier and redesign polish.
  • Audio and video modes share a unified close-button chrome.
  • “Private chats” home tile renamed to Conversations; the More section is gone; empty-state suggestions refreshed (Trending header dropped).
  • User-controllable haptics toggle in settings, plus pull-to-refresh, scroll-to-bottom, theme-picker, library long-press delete, completion, and failure haptics across the app.
  • New PressableWithFeedback wrapper standardizes haptics + ripple across taps; two UI/UX polish sweeps bring Reanimated motion migrations and Figma-parity icons.
  • Swipe-to-dismiss keyboards via react-native-keyboard-controller.

Performance

  • Backup OOM fix — restore on heavy accounts no longer climbs the heap from ~87 MB up to 168+ MB; live data shows it flat at ~97 MB across 988 ops. Binary frames replace base64, hung fetch promises are released, and media downloads stream through a new batched endpoint.
  • Mobile: image attachment memory usage reduced; keyboard handling moves to react-native-keyboard-controller.

Fixed

  • Web: continuous spinner from boot through chat content — no more flash.
  • Web: Council Mode now sends connector tools on chat requests.

  • Mobile: memory vault card and bottom bar layout tightened.
  • Mobile: floating bottom bars shaded to soften the scroll seam.
  • Mobile: stale-token retries preserved.

Week of May 11, 2026

  • The latest models and select credit packs are now gated to the Pro tier .

Mobile

iOS and Android apps are coming soon. Big design push this week:

  • Redesigned chat header, chat input (with keyboard accessory), Council Mode , Memories (Memory Vault), settings / account / credits / personalization, signup and login, model selector, model info modal, and choose-plan screen.

  • “New” badge on freshly-added models in the picker.
  • Artifacts renamed to Library to match web.
  • Nine new locale translations (attach sheet labels translated).

Improved

  • Curated models now flow from the central ai-portal on web and mobile — one source of truth for which models appear in the picker.
  • Big RAM-reduction pass — sidebar paging, embedding quantization, and blob LRU caches keep memory usage down on long sessions.
  • Renamed “Your Memories” to Memories in the web sidebar.
  • Slide decks migrated from Konva to the Anuma JSX runtime — sharper rendering, snappier editor.
  • Audio generation costs updated.
  • Lowered testnet locking threshold to 10 ZETA, plus locking-flow fixes.

Privacy

Week of May 4, 2026

Improved

  • Cross-tab conversation sync now streams deltas instead of full snapshots — multi-tab chats stay in lockstep with less bandwidth and quicker convergence under heavy streaming.

Fixed

  • Synthetic tool-result placeholders no longer leak into the model’s view of conversation history.

Week of Apr 27, 2026

  • Image generation shows a calmer spiral loader instead of a skeleton block.

Privacy

  • Cookie consent moved from a blocking modal to a non-blocking bottom bar.
