Exporting your memory and conversations
Anuma gives you full control over your data. Export your memories, individual conversations, or everything at once.
Export options
Memories export
Download your memories from the Memories view:
- Open Memories from the sidebar
- Tap the export option
- Your memories download as a readable JSON file (
anuma-memories-<date>.json) containing your folders and memory entries
You can re-import this file into Anuma later — useful for moving devices or keeping your own archive.
On the mobile app, Export memories opens the share sheet with a readable Markdown copy of your memories — handy for reading or pasting anywhere.
Conversation export
Export individual conversations:
- Open the conversation you want to export
- Use the export or print option to save it
- Choose your format: PDF (for sharing/printing) or JSON (for data portability)
Full data export
Export everything — conversations, memories, and media:
- Go to Settings > Backup
- Use the export option to download your complete data
- This export is encrypted with your keys — it includes conversation history and associated files, and only you can read it
Good to know
- Memory exports (JSON on web, Markdown on mobile) are plain, readable files — treat them like any sensitive document once they’re saved.
- Full backups from Settings > Backup are encrypted with your keys; only you can read them.
- PDF exports are formatted for easy reading and sharing.
- JSON exports preserve the full data structure — other tools can read them, and Anuma can import its own memory export back in.
- Your data is yours — there’s no lock-in. Export anytime, for any reason.
- Slide decks export separately as PPTX files — see Creating slide decks.
